National League Cup Preview: Solihull Moors vs Leeds United U21s | OneFootball

Leeds United Under-21s will be looking for a first victory in their National League Cup campaign when they face Solihull Moors on Tuesday evening, live on LUTV.

The Whites, who won the inaugural edition of the competition, began Group C with valuable minutes against reigning champions Boreham Wood, losing in Hertfordshire despite goals from Sam Chambers and Josh McDonald.

Scott Gardner’s side followed that up with an enthralling Premier League 2 4-3 victory over West Bromwich Albion U21s where Carrick Njinko netted a hattrick at Thorp Arch.

Then, further positive displays came in PL2 and Premier League Cup meetings with Liverpool U21s and Charlton Athletic U21s respectively, but came away empty handed.

Solihull Moors were beaten by Middlesbrough U21s in their opening fixture in the competition. Last campaign, the Midlands outfit finished fourth place in the group standings, narrowly missing out on qualification to the quarter-finals.

On Enterprise National League duties, Chris Millington’s side have endured a tough start to the new term, collecting just one point from their opening six games.

Last time out, the Moors were on course for a first victory of the season at Gateshead until the hosts equalised deep into stoppage time to ensure the spoils were shared.
