A new week has begun, one that will lead up to the return of the league and kicks off with the final international fixtures of this October break. In Europe, the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers continue. On Monday evening, the only Inter player to take the field was Manuel Akanji, for Switzerland in their match against Slovenia.

The Swiss national faced Slovenia at the Stožice stadium in Ljubljana: the match ended in a goalless draw. Akanji, chosen for the starting XI by coach Yakin, played the full 90 minutes. Following the match against Slovenia, the Inter defender reached a milestone 75 appearances for his national team. Switzerland have secured their fourth clean sheet in four qualifier matches.
