Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has urged the Soweto giants to bounce back with Polokwane City's scalp ahead of the two teams' meeting.
The Buccaneers will entertain the Limpopo-based outfit in a Betway Premiership encounter at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday (19h30).
This comes on the back of a shock 3-0 defeat to Saint-Eloi Lupopo in the first leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round over the weekend.
Now, the Bucs second in command has called on his wounded troops to stage an improved showing as they look to continue their quest for the elusive league title.
“It's important to gather as many points as possible. We know that the number of games [played] are not the same, but it's still important for us to play and win matches,” Ncikazi told the club's media.
"It's important to have a comeback, improved performances. We are guaranteed that if we improve performances, we will get the right results.
While he is aiming for maximum points at the expense of Rise and Shine, Ncikazi has acknowledged it won't be an easy task considering how his counterpart Phuti Mohafe likes to set-up in a low block.
“Polokwane City is a unique team, the coach has got a very unique style of how he sets up his team," the KZN-born mentor added.
”For us it's just to nullify the strength of the opponents, improve our performance and adapt quickly to a new situation and a new competition and win the match - that's all that matters right now.
