Earlier this evening Roma fell at the Marassi stadium to Daniele De Rossi’s Genoa.
Away from home, the Giallorossi paid the price for a lack of determination, and Junior Messias, from a penalty caused by Lorenzo Pellegrini’s inattention, and Vitinha gave the hosts the three points.
For the Roman side, Evan Ndicka’s goal in the 55th minute proved to be an illusion.
But the Ivorian’s goal has earned him a place in the club’s history books.
As reported by Opta, the No. 5 is the first Roma defender in the three-point-for-a-win era to score three consecutive times.
Ndicka scored his first Serie A goal for Roma against Cremonese, then repeated the feat against Juventus, and finally scored again today in the 2-1 win against Genoa.
The Ivorian defender will be unavailable for the next match against Como, having been booked in today’s match while still on a booking.
