Nearly 10 years on, Nazareno Solís to leave Boca

Nazareno Solís will end his Boca Juniors spell after almost a decade of loans and limited opportunities. Deportivo Madryn will sign him permanently following his loan there.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the forward arrived on 21 August 2016 from Talleres de Córdoba with high hopes. His move was contentious, with the Córdoba club alleging contractual breaches by the player and by Boca’s board led then by Daniel Angelici, even considering a FIFA complaint.

He made his debut on 29 October 2016, coming on for Carlos Tevez against Temperley. Weeks later, on 18 December, he again replaced Tevez in what proved to be Tevez’s final match of his first Boca stint, and Solís totalled only four appearances.

After his camp failed to secure continuity and amid differences with the Angelici leadership, he was loaned to Huracán in winter 2017. That began a sequence of spells at San Martín de San Juan, Aldosivi, OFI Crete, Alvarado, Patronato and Gimnasia de Mendoza.

Chasing minutes at each stop, he never regained a place at Boca. At Deportivo Madryn he found regular action, and the club’s permanent deal brings closure to a chapter that started with promise and controversy and drifted into repeated loans.
