Former Roma midfielder Nemanja Matic looked back on the painful loss in the Europa League final in Budapest against Sevilla in 2023.

The Serbian player spoke to Magazine UEFA about that night and his rapport with ex-boss Jose Mourinho.

“I had Mourinho in 3 clubs: Chelsea, Manchester United and Roma. He’s always been important for me,” said Matic.

“Unfortunately we lost the final against Sevilla again on penalties,” he added.

“I am sure that the Giallorossi fans were still proud of our season, I remember that we had a good team.”
