Neo Maema talks about the departure of Fadlu Davids

South African international Neo Maema has broken his silence regarding the sudden exit of his coach, Fadlu Davids, from Tanzanian side Simba SC.

Davids, who was instrumental in bringing both Maema and Rushine De Reuck to the club, made a surprising move to Moroccan powerhouse Raja Club Athletic, taking his entire technical team with him before the Tanzanian league season even began.

In an interview with Radio 2000, Maema reflected on the unexpected turn of events. The former Mamelodi Sundowns player expressed that while he was looking forward to working under Davids, he has come to terms with the professional reality of football.

“Sometimes things don’t go the way that you want. But I think God has a plan for everything,” said Maema.

He further elaborated on his professional mindset, stating that his focus is now on impressing the incoming manager. “Obviously, I have to accept the situation first, and when a new coach comes, I raise my hand and compete. It’s not even an issue for me.”
