At the moment, sorting out Dumfries’s situation is one of Inter’s major priorities for the remaining weeks of the transfer window.

The situation remains that the 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of next June.

Therefore, Inter know that they must find an agreement with Dumfries on a new deal, or else risk losing him for nothing in twelve months’ time.

The Corriere report that Inter’s offer more or less has not budged.

The Nerazzurri are offering a new deal that runs out at the end of June 2027. This would see Dumfries’s earnings go up from €2.5 million net per season to €4 million net per season.

That would take Dumfries to right around what fellow wingback Federico Dimarco earns.

Denzel Dumfries To Sign Inter Milan Contract Extension After Return From Vacation

There has long been some distance between Inter’s offer and what Dumfries is demanding.

This is what has made the Dutchman’s future uncertain.

Dumfries and his representatives have been holding out for €5 million net per season.

There is still work to do in bridging the gap. But as the Corriere make clear, Inter feel confident that they can do so.

The fact that Dumfries has made no secret of his desire to stay is obviously a big factor.

This has proven to be the decisive factor, reports the Gazzetta.

According to the newspaper, Dumfries and Inter have already all but agreed on the terms of a new deal.

The only thing left is for the Dutchman to put pen to paper on the extension.

The Gazzetta report that Dumfries will do just that at the start of next month. He will be back from his vacation after the Euros on August third.
