Netherlands legend believes Ten Hag will triumph Liverpool’s Slot in the Premier League | OneFootball

Manchester United will win the Premier League before Liverpool, according to former Netherlands international Wesley Sneijder.

The biggest rivalry in English football will gain more interest in Holland this year because it will see two Dutch coaches go head-to-head.

Former Ajax, Real Madrid and Inter Milan midfield ace Sneidjer has made it no secret that he fancies Erik ten Hag to triumph over Arne Slot.

“They are both good coaches,” Sneidjer said, as quoted by talkSPORT. “Slot did an amazing job with Feyenoord and at United, they are very confident with Ten Hag.

“He has extended his contract, also Ruud van Nistelrooy, I just got the news that he will be moved.

“So I think they can do a big job because they have amazing players at United. There has to be a team, they need time.

“That is what it is looking like so far, they give time to build a team. I think this season they will go for some prizes.”

Liverpool appointed Slot from Feyenoord this summer to replace Jurgen Klopp, who departed Anfield after nine-years at Merseyside.

Sneijder was then asked who he thinks will win the Premier League first between United and Liverpool.

“Manchester United,” Sneijder said. “Because they have time to build something, the coach will stay and they are confident enough in the coach to build on something.

“So I believe they will be stronger this season than last season.”

United host Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday, September 1. It will be the first time Slot faces United as Liverpool manager.

Sneijder’s prediction should be enough to put a smile on the faces of United fans, but quite the opposite for the Scousers. That will do for me.
