Neuer training setback, Urbig ‘to start’ at Dortmund

Neuer, 39, cut short Bayern training after reporting pain, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Borussia Dortmund.

TZ München reports that he suffered a setback during today’s session, having rejoined team training and initially looked sharp before complaining of discomfort.

The goalkeeper felt issues in his lower back, buttocks and calf, which forced him to leave the pitch.

Bayern were set to make a final call on Friday on his availability.

Unless he makes a miraculous recovery in the next 48 hours, Jonas Urbig looks set to start against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. Urbig started three of Bayern’s last five games, conceding four goals, two each against FC Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.
