That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Fermín López as the player in question.

Barcelona are of course currently in the thick of preparations for a return to action, on Wednesday night.

Shifting focus back towards matters on the continent, the Blaugrana will welcome Borussia Dortmund to Catalunya’s capital, for a Champions League quarter-final clash.

Whilst the vast majority of Hansi Flick’s XI for the fixture has already been locked in, one position, as alluded to above, remains somewhat up in the air.

With Dani Olmo sidelined through injury, the Barca coaching staff have been left with a major call to make when it comes to the Spanish international’s replacement.

After shining against Real Betis over the weekend, Gavi had previously been considered the favourite to start.

As per the aforementioned Relevo, though, it was another who filled the role in preparations in Blaugrana training on Tuesday:

‘In today’s training session, Flick tested a team with Fermín as the main protagonist. It seems that the solution lies with him.’
