New Barcelona signing Dani Olmo has on Friday turned heads across the Spanish football landscape.

This comes after the 26-year-old opted to name a member of the midfield ranks at Barca’s arch rivals Real Madrid as the finest player whom he has ever taken to the pitch against.

Olmo, for his part, is of course fresh off a whirlwind couple of days.

After finally seeing his La Liga registration pushed over the line, the former RB Leipzig star was afforded his Barcelona debut in the club’s meeting with Rayo Vallecano.

And something of a dream bow ensued, Olmo netting the winner in a 2-1 Blaugrana triumph at Vallecas.

Late this week, the Spanish international, in turn, sat down for an in-depth interview with Mundo Deportivo.

A whole host of subjects were touched upon during the discussion, ranging from matters on the pitch to those far away from it.

As alluded to above, though, it was one particular answer provided by Olmo which has since garnered particular attention in Spain.

This comes after the midfielder responded to the question ‘best rival you have faced?’ with a simple one word response:

“(Luka) Modrić”
