FC Bayern are on the lookout for a new central defender and have now turned their attention to a Brazil star from Juventus
The Bayern bosses are apparently looking to strengthen the defense in the summer. After a season in which the Munich team was once again successful at national level but has painfully reached its limits internationally, the focus of the squad planners is shifting to the center of defense
One name seems to be particularly hot: Gleison Bremer. As the Gazzetta dello Sport reports, the German record champions are getting serious in the race for the centre-back from Juventus. The 29-year-old Brazilian is said to be at the top of Munich’s list of priorities. According to the report, Bremer is even regarded internally as the absolute number one option for the defence
Chief Sports Officer Max Eberl wants to stabilize the defence and bring more quality to the back line. The Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in particular has clearly left its mark on Munich
Six goals conceded in the semi-final series against PSG were a clear warning signal for the German record champions. Despite the double from the Bundesliga and DFB Cup, those responsible are aware that the squad needs to be upgraded defensively for the next step in Europe
Bremer has exactly the profile they are looking for at Säbener Straße. The Brazilian international is physically robust, strong in tackles and has great aerial prowess. He is also regarded as a defender who recognizes situations early on and can stabilize an entire defensive line with his presence
After a long injury break following a cruciate ligament rupture, the Juve star made an impressive return last season, scoring four goals in 31 competitive matches and underlining his goal threat from set pieces
The problem from Bayern’s point of view: a transfer will not be cheap. Bremer is still under contract with Juventus until 2029. According to Fichajes.net, the Old Lady is demanding at least €40 million net for the central defender
That would be an impressive sum for FC Bayern, especially as several squad construction sites are to be closed this summer. That is precisely why a swap model could now come into play
According to the report, Munich are thinking about including Minjae Kim in a potential deal. The South Korean could move to Juventus in return, while Bremer would come to Säbener Straße

Kim is no longer considered unsellable in Munich. Although the 29-year-old still has international stature, he has not been able to live up to his high expectations at FC Bayern in the long term. A move back to Italy could be an interesting solution for all sides
For Juventus, Kim would be a player who is already very familiar with Serie A. For Bayern, on the other hand, a swap deal could reduce the transfer fee for Bremer and at the same time create space in their own central defense
Munich want to conclude talks before the World Cup if possible. The background is clear: if Bremer performs well with Brazil in North America, his market value could rise further.
