The documentary is an exploration of Txiki Begiristain’s 13 years as Director of Football at Manchester City and a tribute to his impact on our Club.

The 61-year-old has been a central figure in our continued and sustained success, working closely with Pep Guardiola and Ferran Soriano amongst others, to develop City into one of the biggest names in football.

He retired this summer having spent much of 2025 working on efficiently handing over his responsibilities to Hugo Viana.

‘A Farewell to Txiki’ takes us into Tast, a central Manchester Catalan-themed restaurant which was the brainchild of Begiristain, Guardiola and Soriano.

The trio sit around a table, enjoying tapas, wine and a conversation on their life working together.

The likes of Brian Marwood and Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak as well as first team stars Erling Haaland and Rodri also give their testimonies about Txiki’s legacy.

Our City Studios cameras also heard from those closest to Txiki away from football, his wife and daughter, as they reflect on how his job at City has shaped their life.
