New Corinthians signing assists crucial LNF goal after a week

Even with little time at the club, the latest signing announced by Corinthians Futsal for the remainder of the season has already made a difference. In the match against Umuarama for the National Futsal League (LNF) last weekend, the defender Marlon was responsible for an assist that contributed to the black-and-white team's victory.

The defender provided the pass for Lucas Martins’ goal, the second for Timão, which sealed the 2-1 win and secured three points for the club in the standings. However, he was sent off by the referee after stopping a play that could have resulted in a goal for the opponent, pulling the shirt of Vini Rod from Umuarama.

The defender has achieved significant accomplishments with the Brazilian National Team. Among his titles are the International Tournament of France, the Nations Cup, and the Copa América. In addition, he was part of the team that won the 2024 World Cup, where he was chosen as the tournament’s second-best player. Marlon was the third signing for Corinthians in the second half of the year. Before him, pivot Rick and winger Renatinho had already been announced as new additions to the squad.

Due to the red card, he will not be able to play for Corinthians in the last round of the first phase of the LNF, when they face Foz Cataratas on the 27th. This Tuesday, the 23rd, Timão faces AABB in the Paulista Championship, starting at 7 p.m. (Brasília time).
