The Arsenal vs Leicester fixture from matchday 14 in the WSL has been rearranged, with the Gunners set to take on the Foxes in April.

Why was Arsenal vs Leicester rearranged?

Arsenal’s WSL game against Leicester was supposed to take place on matchday 14 last weekend.

The match was rearranged due to the inaugural Champions Cup.

Not only did Arsenal compete in the competition, but their home ground was also where the final was hosted.

With the Gunners playing all their league games at the Emirates Stadium this season, even if they didn’t make it to the final they wouldn’t have been able to play the WSL clash.

Arsenal did in fact make the final however and they went one better by winning the first-ever Champions Cup.

With their first silverware already on the board this season, Renee Slegers’ side will be confident that they can go far in other competitions including the WSL.

When will Arsenal play Leicester?

The Arsenal vs Leicester clash officially has a rearranged date.

With such a busy run-in coming up, the fixture has been moved to a midweek game.

Arsenal and Leicester will take each other on at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, April 29th.

Kick off will be at 7pm with the game broadcast live on Sky Sports.

The fixture being moved could have huge ramifications on the top four race, with Arsenal sure to be in the midst of a top four battle and Leicester fighting off relegation.

Can Arsenal still win the league?

Arsenal are fighting it out for the WSL title this season.

After Manchester City’s win against Chelsea last weekend the Gunners now sit a whopping 13 points behind the league leaders, but they do have a game in hand.

The win for City was good news for Arsenal in a way, as they can now go above Chelsea in the table if they win their spare game.

Three points for Slegers’ team would also put them above Manchester United in the standings and in a prime position to finish in the top two.

Only first and second in the WSL automatically qualify for the Champions League and Arsenal’s fate is now in their own hands.
