FC Bayern loaned full-back Sacha Boey to Galatasaray in the winter. The Turkish top club also has a purchase option. Now there are new developments regarding the player’s future

The loan to Galatasaray was a return to his old stomping ground for Boey, with the record champions hoping that he would find his way back to his old strength there and that the Turkish top club would then sign him permanently

In Munich, Boey repeatedly struggled with injuries and never really found his rhythm, which is why he is considered a misunderstanding

Boey: setback for FC Bayern

Recently, however, there have been increasing reports that Galatasaray are not interested in buying Boey permanently. Another loan would be more conceivable, but even that was not yet certain. They wanted to wait for the analysis of the 2025/26 season

Now there is no good news for FC Bayern and hopes of Boey joining Galatasaray permanently. According to Sabah Spor , the Turks now have their sights set on Zeki Celik (29) from AS Roma, who is on the free transfer market in the summer

A Celik deal would be doubly beneficial for Galatasaray. Not only would they now have a much cheaper alternative to Boey, whose purchase option is said to be around 15 million euros, but the 59-time international would also help them to comply more easily with the registration rules for domestic players in the Turkish league

However, Celik’s transfer to the Turkish champions is not yet a done deal. As long as that is not the case, the record champions can still hope. Otherwise, FC Bayern’s only option is to sound out the market for other interested parties who would ideally sign the player permanently in the summer, as Munich would like to bring the Boey chapter to a close very soon.
