The New England Revolution have signed midfielder Dániel Gazdag as a free agent, the club announced Tuesday.

Gazdag joins New England after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with the Columbus Crew. The 30-year-old Hungarian international was a Designated Player in Columbus.

Now, Gazdag is under contract with New England through December 2027 with club options through the 2028-29 MLS season.

“We are excited to add a player with the caliber and experience of Dániel Gazdag to New England," said Chris Tierney, the club's general manager and chief soccer officer.

"Dániel has proven over several years that he is one of our league’s premier goal-scoring midfielders, and his versatility and quality on the ball will add another critical piece to our attack."

Gazdag has spent six seasons in MLS spanning Columbus and the Philadelphia Union, where he's their all-time leading goalscorer. The 2022 MLS Best XI selection has tallied 70 goals and 37 assists in 180 league matches.

Internationally, Gazdag has scored four goals in 30 caps with Hungary. He featured at the 2024 Euros.

In New England, Gazdag joins an attack led by Carles Gil, Jack Harrison and Peyton Miller. Gil and Harrison are both DPs, while Miller is a homegrown player.

The Revs, currently fourth in the Eastern Conference (37 points), are in their first season under head coach Marko Mitrović and on pace to return to the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.
