The New England Revolution were victorious for the sixth time this season after defeating Sporting Kansas City 2-1 on Saturday night thanks to a game-winning brace from Giacomo Vrioni.

The Italian led the team to triumph, opening up the scoring the first half, before sealing the three points with a second goal just three minutes after. Though Sporting Kansas City's Johnny Russell pulled one back in the second half, the efforts by Vrioni were enough.

But despite the win to hold onto first place in the Eastern Conference table, head coach Bruce Arena thought that the Revs could have done more in the match.

“We could’ve done everything better the second half, from the start to the finish. It started where guys are standing around, not moving to the ball, not communicating, and it ends up with a breakaway that we can’t even convert. So, it was just a real sloppy second half. Very disappointed in that.”

While Vrioni leads New England in scoring with three goals this season, several other Revolution players have contributed in finding the back of the net: Bobby Wood, Dylan Borrero, Gustavo Bou, and Carles Gil have all notched two goals this season.

Arena added he believes there is more to come from his side despite their strong position in the Eastern Conference standings, bluntly stating "they’ve done a good job to date, but we can’t walk off the field tonight feeling good about that performance."

The Revs sit atop the Eastern Conference with 20 points and are ahead of FC Cincinnati (also on 20 points) due to their +seven goal difference. New England's sole loss this season came on Match day 3 against the formidable LAFC. Since that defeat, the Revs have been unbeaten in six straight games.

The Revs clash with FC Cincinnati Saturday night as both clubs look to establish a foothold at the top of the Eastern Conference.
