Lazio have received an injury boost as Alessio Romagnoli returned to training, but at the same time, Patric was forced to stop.
Marco Baroni had a nightmarish scenario at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday, with his backline getting gradually depleted during the Serie A clash against Inter Milan. Romagnoli was already missing due to a slight knock, while Mario Gila felt dizzy in the middle of the first half, and his replacement Samuel Gigot then suffering a blow to the head. These incidents forced the manager to play Adam Marusic at centre-back, which was one of the main reasons behind the horrifying 0-6 defeat.
But according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Romagnoli has now resumed training with the group, so he should be called up for Saturday’s away fixture against Lecce, albeit he’s unlikely to start. Gila has recovered from the slight illness suffered on Monday, so he’s expected to take the field from the first minute.
However, Patric was nowhere to be seen in training. As the source explains, the veteran defender wasn’t in his best physical condition against the Nerazzurri, but had to grit his teeth due to the lack of options. So it remains to be seen if the Spaniard will be able to regain his fitness in time for the next contest, while Gigot would be the alternative choice.
