Manchester United are reportedly considering an ambitious double transfer bid for Real Madrid midfielders Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga.

The French duo could be available this summer, with their sales potentially being key to unlocking Real Madrid’s deal to sign Rodri from Manchester City.

That’s according to Spanish outlet El Nacional, which also states that neither deal is close at the moment, even if Man Utd are keen on both players, who are worth a total of €150m.

It remains to be seen if this audacious double bid could work out, with neither Tchouameni or Camavinga so far pushing to leave Real Madrid.

Tchouameni and Camavinga to make way for Rodri

However, the report makes it clear that the priority for Real is to bring in Rodri, while Camavinga in particular is also not expected to be part of new manager Jose Mourinho’s plans.

That could mean there’s a big opportunity for United to sign the France international, who can operate in midfield and at left-back.

That could be useful for Red Devils boss Michael Carrick, as Camavinga could perhaps be an upgrade on the inconsistent and injury-prone Luke Shaw.

Tchouameni, meanwhile, has also been linked with United by Fabrizio Romano on YouTube, and it’s easy to imagine him as the ideal signing for the club to build their midfield around.

Will Man United spend big on Tchouameni and Camavinga?

So far, it’s been a bit of a quiet summer at Old Trafford, with just Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos joining to bolster Carrick’s midfield options.

It may be that MUFC are prepared to spend more later on in the window, but so far they seem to have been slightly cautious with their squad-building.

Tielemans and Santos didn’t cost too much and have added depth to United’s midfield, but there’s no doubt that fans would surely love to see a star name like Tchouameni coming in in that position.

With Casemiro leaving at the end of last season and Manuel Ugarte struggling during his time at the club, while now also being out with a serious injury, there could be room for Tchouameni to come in as a third midfielder signing, with Camavinga perhaps mainly being brought in to address that left-back issue.
