Norwich City remain on the lookout for a new head coach, but Will Still and Russell Martin are not thought to be in the running.
Norwich City are not expected to appoint either Will Still or Russell Martin as their new head coach, although Jon Dahl Tomasson and Gary O’Neil are in the frame.
The Canaries have endured a terrible start to the season, with Liam Manning, who was only appointed in the summer, having lost his job after the 2-1 defeat at home to Leicester City last time out.
Since then, the hierarchy has been focused on bringing in a replacement, and a host of names have been linked with the vacancy, which included Still and Martin.

However, in a fresh development, BBC journalist Rob Butler has provided an update on the managerial search, as he confirmed that Still and Martin are unlikely to take over, although he did reveal two names who are an option for Norwich.
“Jon Dahl Tomasson and Gary O’Neil are definite contenders. Understand Will Still, and Russell Martin are out of the running, as things stand. Have a feeling there may be another couple of people in the mix, but no more info yet.”
Martin is out of work after he was dismissed by Rangers earlier in the campaign, and he has an obvious connection to the club, having made over 300 appearances at Carrow Road, which included playing a key role in the side that went from League One to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Still is another who is without a job at the moment, as he recently left Southampton following a poor first few months in charge.
Even though Norwich had hoped to be in the mix for promotion this season, the reality is they have a lot of work to do to avoid dropping to League One, as they’re already four points from safety.
Of course, there’s a lot of football to be played this season, but another bad appointment could leave Norwich in a very worrying position.

So, those making the decisions must get this right, and it’s right that they are assessing plenty of candidates.
Every Norwich fan will have their own opinion on which candidate the club should appoint, but Tomasson and O’Neil both look like good options who could make an instant impact.
The same could be said with Still and Martin as well, which demonstrates that there are a lot of good candidates out there.
As mentioned, there are probably names we haven’t heard yet who are also in the running, so it will be interesting to see who they do appoint, and whether they’re in place ahead of the game at Birmingham City next weekend.
