Paris Saint-Germain’s life after Kylian Mbappé would always require something special and they may just have found it.
As the France captain’s protracted move to Real Madrid finally came to pass this summer, the Parc des Princes saw several new arrivals.
But none have been as impactful as João Neves after Luis Enrique’s side racked up the goals in their opening two Ligue 1 fixtures.
The Portugal international had a hand in two of them during last week’s win over Le Havre before repeating the trick against Montpellier on Friday.
Neves put it on a plate for Bradley Barcola’s fourth-minute opener before teeing up Marcos Asensio later in the first half.
The teenager is already halfway to Ousmane Dembélé’s tally of eight as Les Parisiens’ highest number of assists last season.
Dembelé had the most assists for PSG last season ✨ João Neves already has 4 assists in 2 matches 😱🇵🇹–
The bar has officially been raised.
