Mika Godts plans to keep playing his natural game even as he adapts to life at PSG, where things are quite different to Ajax.

Mika Godts has been speaking about his playing style while on Belgium duty.

PSG fans have yet to see much of their summer signing, but they can expect some exciting (albeit potentially frustrating) times if his description of his game is anything to go by:

“That’s how I always play, and that’s what the [Belgium] coach likes,” Godts said.

Before the match, he told me: ‘Do your dribbles and keep going if it’s not working.’ I like feeling that support. Even if I miss four dribbles in a row, I’ll try again the fifth time.”

Luis Enrique also likes his attackers to be fearless in taking risks – he just also needs them to pay for that with their defensive work rate. Godts is still getting up to speed on that front.

Godts to use useful international minutes to keep building into season

Godts has played just 144 minutes for new his club since signing in the summer, and has yet to start a game. But that’s natural for a young player adapting to life under Luis Enrique, and his time will come as the season progresses.

These international minutes are going to be very handing in keeping him ready to contribute.

In other news…

Christopher Galtier has made it clear who he thinks should win the Ballon d’Or… sort of.

Senny Mayulu was the first international break victim for PSG – but it doesn’t sound like a bad injury, and he will likely be fit for the Parisians’ next game.
