As a former graduate of Barcelona’s La Masia, Marc Cucurella made a massive statement when he agreed to sign for Real Madrid earlier this summer.
The Spanish left-back, after all, is a product of the Merengues‘ arch-rivals, and his agreeing to sign for Los Blancos is an indication that even Barcelona players can simply not resist an offer from Real Madrid.
Needless to say, however, he has come under much criticism for his decision to switch allegiance and has even publicly come out to stand by his decision with no regret. After all, the Real Madrid train passes by only once.
Speaking to El Chiringuito in a recent interview, the new Real Madrid signing was asked if he had any allegiance to his former club and whether he would ever consider getting the Barcelona crest tattooed. His reply clarified everything about his commitment to Real Madrid.

“I would rather go bald than get a Barca tattoo,” Cucurella said in a massive statement, especially given how iconic his hairstyle has become in recent years.
The player then spoke with genuine childlike excitement about Real Madrid and how he longs to play the big European nights with the club.
“I watched Real Madrid’s documentary about the last Champions League run.”
“It always seems like nothing will happen, but they know something will happen, that they’re going to pull a remontada,” he added.
“Living it must be beautiful,” Cucurella concluded.

The last part of his interview revolved around the role that he has been signed to perform at Real Madrid and what Jose Mourinho expects of him.
With Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe both being top attackers with subpar defensive contributions, Cucurella’s arrival is seen more as a defensive boost to compensate for the same.
The player, when asked, had no hesitation in admitting that he was more than happy to do the ‘dirty work’ for his teammates.
“Defending more to cover for Kylian Mbappé & Vini Jr? I have no problem with that.”
“I’ll do all the dirty work, because I want to win. My only priority is winning,” he added.
