FC Bayern continues to look for reinforcements for its defense. After signing Nathaniel Brown to play left back, the club now appears to be focusing on the right side again. A prominent name from FC Barcelona is reportedly on Munich’s list.
With Nathaniel Brown, Bayern has already secured its preferred solution for the left side of the defense. There could also be movement on the right side as the summer transfer window progresses. Most recently, Givairo Read of Feyenoord Rotterdam was considered a hot candidate, but now a new name has emerged.
As transfer insider Christian Falk reports, FC Bayern is looking into Jules Koundé of FC Barcelona.
According to Falk, however, the interest is not yet concrete. Reportedly, the Munich club would only seriously consider a transfer if Sacha Boey leaves the club this summer.
The Frenchman remains on the list of players the club is looking to sell. Only his potential departure would free up both a spot on the roster and the financial resources needed for a new signing.

Koundé looks back on an up-and-down season with FC Barcelona. The French international faced repeated criticism from fans and the media during the 2025–26 season and is reportedly allowed to leave the club if a suitable offer is made.
At the World Cup, however, the 26-year-old has been in strong form. As a starter at right back, Koundé is one of the key players on the French national team, which has reached the semifinals.
A transfer, however, would be anything but cheap for FC Bayern. Koundé still has a contract with Barcelona through 2030. His market value is currently estimated at around 60 million euros.
Whether Munich actually moves forward with a bid will therefore likely depend largely on whether they can first successfully sell Sacha Boey.
