FC Bayern are interested in one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, and if they really want to bring him to Munich, they would probably have to make a record transfer
In their search for reinforcements between the posts, the German record champions are apparently still looking to England. As transfer insider Ekrem Konur reports on X, Bart Verbruggen of Brighton & Hove Albion is still on FC Bayern Munich’s list
However, a potential deal would be quite something: Around 40 million euros are expected to be paid for the 23-year-old Dutchman, which would put Verbruggen well above the previous Bundesliga record for goalkeepers – held by Manuel Neuer, for whom Munich paid around 30 million euros to FC Schalke 04 in 2011
However, FCB are by no means the only top club to have put out feelers for Verbruggen: international heavyweights such as Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Inter Milan are also said to have expressed an interest in the keeper
Whether FC Bayern will actually consider signing Verbruggen depends on whether Manuel Neuer will extend his contract, which expires in the summer, by a further year. Should he end his time at FC Bayern, a place in the squad would be open for the Dutchman. In addition, Jonas Urbig appears to be the preferred solution as Neuer’s heir

No decision has yet been made regarding Neuer, but it shouldn’t take too long, as the Bayern shot-stopper recently explained: „I haven’t personally decided yet, but I don’t think it will be too long before I take heart and make a decision. And then, of course, there will be talks with the club.“
On the club side, an extension for Neuer is likely to be a mere formality, with sporting director Max Eberl saying on DAZN: „Fitness, mental freshness, the desire for another year – he has to symbolize that to some extent and then we will put things on top of each other and then there would probably be a solution.“
