Rangers welcomed Motherwell to Hampden Park on Saturday and claimed all three points in a 2-1 win.
Scorers: Dessers 13′, Černý 24′; Pröpper 17′ (OG)
Following a goalless draw in their season opener, Rangers finally found their scoring touch in the 2024-25 season.
Cyriel Dessers scored the club’s first goal of the season as home fans erupted after he converted from Mohamed Diomande’s initial header.
Another Rangers ace then had his name on the scoresheet, but not in the way he would have liked. Motherwell pulled level minutes after the opener thanks to an own goal from an unlucky Robin Pröpper.
But his team-mate would eventually save his blushes when Václav Černý scored his first goal for the club. The new signing picked up the ball on the right, cut to his left, and struck into the top corner.
The second half saw Rangers continue to dominate the pitch, with 18 shots to seven for Motherwell and 69% possession of the ball, but nobody else could find the back of the net seeing the hosts hold on.
It means the club earned their first win of the season and currently sit second in the table.
