It seems likely that Jan Virgili will end up leaving FC Barcelona this summer. The Spanish winger is not included in the first team dynamics, and nor does he want to stay with the reserve team. Thus, offers for the 19-year-old winger will be assessed this summer.

While RCD Mallorca emerged with a strong interest in the player, that option seems to have fallen behind a bit. After all, the La Liga side is unable to match Barça’s demands of a transfer fee worth €4 million for 50% of the player’s rights, along with an affordable buy-back clause.

However, a new suitor, according to SPORT, is able to come much closer to those demands. Almeria is the club in question, and they are reportedly willing to offer €3 million for 50% of the rights for the 19-year-old Spanish winger alongside a six-year contract.

This strong push from Almeria marks definite interest, and it might be a better alternative to Mallorca as well. After all, it would likely guarantee Virgili more minutes than he would get if he ended up joining Mallorca.

However, one factor the report does not place much emphasis on is that Almeria are currently in the Segunda Division. Based on what has been seen so far, the 19-year-old Barcelona Atletic forward appears to have high aspirations, and playing top-flight football seems to be the ideal scenario for him.
