Eddie Howe says he is hopeful that midfielder Joelinton will be fit to face Brighton on Saturday.
Howe revealed a slight injury concern for the Brazilian, who travelled to Asia with his national side over the international break.
But the Magpies boss is optimistic it will not rule him out this weekend.
“I think everyone has come back okay [from international break],” he said.
“We were a little concerned about Joelinton but he seems to be okay. Hopefully he will train today.”
Howe also says summer signing Yoane Wissa, who is still yet to make his debut for the club because of a knee injury, has been back out on the grass training.
“We have seen him back on the grass for the first time which is great to see, it is now a case of stepping him up gradually,” Howe said. “In terms of timelines, it is similar to what I’ve said – nothing has changed.”
Jacob Ramsey is also set to be involved after overcoming his ankle problem.
“He had a couple of training sessions and trained well, but we didn’t want to push him too early,” Howe said.
“He has trained in the break and looks good, I am pleased with where he is currently.
“I expect him to be with us in the squad.”
Meanwhile, Howe says he is hopeful of having Lewis Hall back next month with the defender currently sidelined with a hamstring problem.
“His second scan was good news,” Howe said. “There was different scales of time that he could be out for and it is on the shorter end – we hope he will be back before the next international break but we don’t know exactly when.
“From the first scan, that might not have been possible so it’s good news.”
