A late deflected strike from Jay O'Shea gave Brisbane Roar a key 2-1 win over bottom-of-the-table Newcastle Jets that strengthened their grip on an A-League Finals place.
It was a win on Friday that moved Brisbane three points clear of Western Sydney Wanderers and Perth Glory as the race for a top-six finish goes on.
O'Shea redeemed himself 17 minutes from time having previously scored an own goal that brought Newcastle level, his match-winning strike taking a big deflection off Lucas Mauragis.
Riku Danzaki had claimed the opening goal in the first half, which came after a shot on goal from Alex Parsons.
Corey Brown impressed for visitors Brisbane, setting up the winner for O'Shea and ending the contest with a game-high three chances created.
