Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kerem Demirbay rejected an offer from Newcastle United last month.

Fussball Transfers says Newcastle came knocking early in the January market, contacting his management team.

But Demirbay turned down the approach immediately.

The 28 year-old has hopes of driving Bayer to Champions League qualification this season, while they're also alive in the Europa League.

Demirbay was outstanding in victory at Borussia Dortmund yesterday.
