Transfer talk has been heating up around Anthony Gordon and Liverpool.
The 25-year-old came close to joining his boyhood club back in summer 2024 - when current employers Newcastle were suffering from some heavy PSR issues.
After sorting out their financial problem by selling Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson the Geordies managed to keep hold of their England winger.
Gordon even ended up signing a new long-term contract at St. James’ Park - allowing Newcastle to protect his transfer value.
But reports have recently suggested that the former Everton forward would be only too happy to join Liverpool - a club he left while still a schoolboy.

Liverpool are due another attacking shakeup - especially on the wings where doubts surround Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah.
It’s easy to see why Richard Hughes might be tempted to find an upgrade on Cody Gakpo too - and Gordon can play all across the frontline including centre-forward.
Earlier this week it was stated that Gordon could go for a British record-equalling sum - following Liverpool’s £125m deal for Alexander Isak last summer.
And now talkSPORT has weighed in on the matter - declaring that a sale for Gordon next summer is off-limits to Eddie Howe’s side - and that they have no intention of letting him go.
“Newcastle have no plans to cash in on in-form Anthony Gordon,” the report reads.
“Crucially for Newcastle, months after that Anfield move fell through Gordon penned a new contract keeping him at St James Park until the summer of 2028.
“That deal is not thought to include a release clause.”
Gordon’s form in the Premier League has admittedly been up and down this season but he has shone since being moved into a central role. In the Champions League he has scored a sensational 10 goals - behind only Kylian Mbappe in the race to be top scorer.
