Newcastle United have confirmed the £70m signing of Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade on a long-term deal.
The 23-year-old only joined Stuttgart last summer on a free transfer, having come through the youth ranks at Werder Bremen and becomes the Magpies' record signing, eclipsing wantaway striker Alexander Isak.
Last season, Woltemade scored 17 goals and registered three assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.
The German international's arrival at St James' Park ends a drawn-out search for a striker, after failed pursuits of Liam Delap, João Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Šeško earlier in the window.
Woltemade becomes Newcastle's fifth first-team arrival of the summer, following the likes of Anthony Elanga, Jacob Ramsey and Malick Thiaw through the door, while the Magpies continue to be linked with Brentford's Yoane Wissa ahead of Monday's deadline.
