Newcastle striker Yoshinori Muto is reportedly ‘pushing to leave’ the club in January.
Muto has made just one start this season, and just eight in all competitions since joining from Mainz in 2018.
According to Telegraph Sport, the 27-year-old has already made his feelings known to manager Steve Bruce.
Capable of playing out wide or behind the striker, Muto is already behind Allan Saint-Maximin, Miguel Almirón, Joelinton and Dwight Gayle in the pecking order.
A move back to the Bundesliga has been touted with Mainz, Augsburg and Union Berlin all said to be interested.
Newcastle will be hoping to recoup at least €5m of their initial €8m outlay.
