Newcastle United are set to offer Tino Livramento a new six-year contract that would make him one of the highest earners at the club, as they look to fend off growing interest from Manchester City, according to a report from The Times.

The 22-year-old full back, whose current deal runs until 2028, has caught the eye of Pep Guardiola, with City reportedly ready to bid £65m for the England international. However, Newcastle are eager to put an end to the mounting speculation and secure Livramento’s future, especially following a summer of transfer uncertainty surrounding star forward Alexander Isak.

Livramento joined Newcastle from Southampton two years ago in a deal worth up to £40m. He quickly rose to prominence by displacing Kieran Trippier as the club’s first-choice right back at the start of last season. Following an injury to Lewis Hall, Livramento was moved to left back, where he thrived—most notably delivering a standout performance in Newcastle’s Carabao Cup final victory over Liverpool, nullifying Mohamed Salah.

Now regarded as one of the Premier League’s top full backs, Livramento also played a pivotal role for England’s Under-21s as they retained their European Championship crown in June. England manager Thomas Tuchel opted not to call him into the senior squad for matches against Andorra and Senegal, preferring to allow him further development time at youth level.

Though Livramento missed Newcastle’s 4-0 defeat to Celtic in the Adidas Cup over the weekend, his absence was due to an extended post-tournament break. He is expected to feature in Newcastle’s next pre-season friendly against Arsenal in Singapore on July 27.

The move to renew Livramento’s deal comes as Newcastle look to stabilise their squad and shut down interest in their rising stars, signalling their intent to resist pressure from top domestic rivals.
