Newcastle ‘to pay’ less for Manzambi than previously reported

Sky Sports reports Newcastle United have agreed a €57.5 million fee with SC Freiburg for Johan Manzambi, lower than the €60 million previously reported.

On Thursday, Sky Germany reported a full agreement between the clubs on a €60 million deal.

The report adds Manzambi will not sign until after the World Cup, where he has helped Switzerland reach the quarter-finals.

With the 20-year-old also linked with other clubs, Newcastle are cautious until the transfer is completed.

That stance follows last month’s late setback, when they missed out on Victor Muñoz to Liverpool at the last minute.
