Across the years, I have been to numerous Newcastle United away matches.
Fair to say that the usual situation was to travel far more in hope, than expectation.
Newcastle United fans travelling to away matches and determined to enjoy themselves, whatever the result.
Which was just as well, as for so much of the time, the NUFC away record was woeful.
This now though is the Eddie Howe era and the travelling Newcastle United fans have never had it so good!
The Newcastle United record away from St James’ Park over the last 17 months reads:
Played 35 Won 20 Drawn 4 Lost 11 Goals scored 62 Goals conceded 51
Eddie Howe and his players have won 57% of matches away from St James’ Park in these 17 months.
Whilst only 31% of the NUFC games away from SJP have been lost in this period of time.
The last 13 games away from St James’ Park have been extraordinary…
Played 13 Won 9 Drawn 1 Lost 3 Goals scored 24 Goals conceded 16
So these past four months, Newcastle winning 69% of these 12 games, losing in only 23% of them.
Indeed, since 7 December 2024, the only matches away from St James’ Park that United have lost, have been at Man City, Liverpool and Villa.
The Newcastle United away from St James’ Park record that has followed New Year’s day 2024:
Sunderland 0 Newcastle 3

Only two Newcastle United Premier League matches remain, one of those away from home.
Before Everton at St James’ Park on the final day of the season,, it is Arsenal away on Sunday.
A tough away trip up next, however, considering just how well Eddie Howe’s side have performed away from St James’ Park in recent times, who would bet against them picking up a point (or even potentially all three…)?
Arsenal have won only two of their last six home Premier League matches and lost their very most recent one to Bournemouth, drawing against Palace the one before that.
