West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen will be a target for Newcastle United if the Hammers go down, according to the Daily Mirror.

Eddie Howe’s Magpies have all but condemned West Ham to relegation after a 3-1 win over Nuno Espirito Santo’s men at St James Park on Sunday.

The Hammers will have to sell key players if they go down, and Newcastle are monitoring the ‘unbelievable’ Bowen.

The Toons will not be the only Premier League club keen on the 29-year-old England international as Everton manager David Moyes could want a reunion.

The former West Ham boss brought Bowen to the London Stadium club from Hull City in 2020, and both could be willing to work together again.

Newcastle are looking to replace Anthony Gordon, and Bowen fits the bill despite his age.

The Englishman can play on both wings and as a number 9, and he has eight goals and ten assists in 37 league games this term.

He has 84 goals and 62 assists in 279 games for West Ham, and Newcastle could do with such an attacker going forward.

Bowen has proven himself in the Premier League and could be a short-term upgrade on Gordon.

The Hammers skipper has not had issues with consistency since moving to the top-flight, and Howe needs such players in his ranks.

Newcastle have missed out entirely on qualification for European football next season, and could lose some of their top targets to clubs playing in the Champions League or the other two continental competitions next term.

Bowen is likely to prefer joining one of those teams, and the Magpies have a slim chance of pipping top suitors to his services from the look of things.

They were close to getting drawn into the relegation battle after four consecutive league defeats heading into May.

However, they turned things around with two wins and a draw in their last three matches

Bowen could be wary of joining such a team and will be looking to play for one of those regularly challenging for the top-four.
