Newcastle United are working on a deal to sign Aaron Ramsdale.
The ever reliable David Ornstein of The Athletic revealing the news.
He reports that Newcastle United have made an offer of an initial loan with an option to buy.
However, Ornstein says that Southampton’s preference would be for a straight sale, but then if it is a loan move they would want a significant loan fee.
The man from The Athletic says that talks are ongoing between Southampton and Newcastle United but agreement yet to be reached.
Now 27, Aaron Ramsdale joined Southampton a year ago for £25m and still has four years left of a five year contract. As no doubt he is one of their top earners, no surprise if Southampton ideally want to move him on.
