According to a recent report from Fichajes, Argentina international Giovani Lo Celso has emerged as a possible target for Newcastle United ahead of the January transfer window.

Real Betis, the midfielder’s current club, could consider a sale if a suitable offer arrives, with the report suggesting a fee in the €20 million to €25 million range may convince the Spanish side to part with him.

That price would place the former Tottenham Hotspur player firmly within reach for Eddie Howe’s squad as they plan limited but targeted business in the winter window, with an eye on strengthening for the second half of a demanding campaign.

The Magpies remain keen to add a midfielder who can handle multiple roles within the system, and Lo Celso fits that profile as a technically gifted and flexible option.

Newcastle United have already been linked with Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher and Valencia youngster Javi Guerra, which highlights their extensive search for quality in central areas. Against that backdrop, Lo Celso’s name is an addition as another La Liga-based midfielder who could realistically be available at the right price.

A move for the former Spurs playmaker would also bring the benefit of signing someone already accustomed to the pace and physical demands of the Premier League, which could ease his transition back into English football.
