Back on transfer deadline day in Holland, Miodrag Pivas signed for Willem II on Monday 2 September 2024.

The promising teenage defender having arrived at Newcastle United earlier in the summer, having been bought from Serbian club FK Jedinstvo for a reported £1m plus various add-ons and likely sell-on clause.

Good to see him getting a decent standard loan deal, to hopefully help him progress quickly with first team football.

The deal that saw Miodrag Pivas joining Willem II on a season-long loan, announced by Newcastle United via their official social media.

The Eredivisie side are currently fifth in the table in the Dutch top tier after five league games BUT have had to do it without their Newcastle United loan signing.

Miodrag Pivas signed 17 days ago but has been waiting on a work permit.

This has meant the defender hasn’t even been able to train with his new club.

Dutch newspaper AD report that Miodrag Pivas even went back to Serbia to train with his old club.

However, they say that the loan player is now back in Holland and their information is that Pivas may even have been able to join in with training at the Dutch club for the first time today. With the work permit issue seemingly sorted now.
