Mark Lawrenson has been discussing Newcastle United.

The former Liverpool defender speaking ahead of Monday night’s match.

Newcastle United having played fourteen matches in total (all competitions) so far this season.

Eight wins, three draws and three defeats.

The big stat of course is that Eddie Howe’s side have won all of their most recent three matches.

Mark Lawrenson talking to Paddy Power about Newcastle United ahead of Monday night’s match at St James’ Park:

“I really, really fancy Newcastle to win this.

“They haven’t been great overall but they’ve had a couple of good results and they look to have something about them now.

“I think pretty much everyone’s fit and I just don’t fancy West Ham at all making the long trip up to the freezing north!

“Newcastle 3 West Ham 0.”

I think Mark Lawrenson capturing/matching the mood of the Newcastle United fans.

That things seem to have really clicked now, not only three great wins over Chelsea, Arsenal and Forest, but the performances have been just as good as those recent results.
