WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies this evening.
The 22-year-old full-back has been on Chelsea’s books for the last 14 years. She made her senior debut for The Blues in a 4-0 victory at Aston Villa in the 2020/2021 season. Fox has furthered her development in loan spells with Charlton Athletic, Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace in recent seasons. The player’s progress has been disrupted by a couple of unfortunate long-term injuries.
Fox is an up and coming talent and she will be hoping to shine as Newcastle United look to win promotion from Barclays WSL2 this season.
After joining Newcastle United, Fox said “I’m really excited. I’ve spoken to a lot of people about the club, and everyone seems excited about the project, and I can’t wait to get started.
“We’re competing for promotion, and that’s the main goal. There will be tough moments and good moments because this league is tough.”
Fox is Newcastle United’s second Transfer Deadline Day signing. The Magpies also agreed a season-long loan deal for Chelsea goalkeeper Femke Liefting earlier today.
