Newcastle United have completed the signing of goalkeeper Anna Tamminen on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies this afternoon.

The 30-year-old joins Newcastle United after recently leaving Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan club Hammarby IF. Tamminen spent four years with Hammarby in which she made 116 appearances for the club in all competitions. The keeper won the OBOS Damallsvenskan title and domestic cup in her time in Sweden. On the international stage, Tamminen has 11 senior caps for Finland. She represented her country at UEFA Women’s EURO 2025.

After joining Newcastle United, Tamminen said “It’s super-exciting. When I heard about the project, I just felt like I wanted to be part of it.

“The ambitions that the club have is amazing. When you get the chance to experience something like this, you take it.”

Tamminen is Newcastle United’s third Transfer Deadline Day signing. The deal was completed ahead of the closure of the summer transfer window last night. The club must wait for international clearance before Tamminen can become a member of Becky Langley’s matchday squad.
