Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon has already informed people close to him that he wants a move to Bayern Munich this summer, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

The England international has not told Newcastle that he wants out, but the feeling within the club is that he will seek a move.

Bayern are planning to meet with Gordon’s representatives in the coming weeks as they look to wrap up a deal before the World Cup starts in June.

The Magpies star believes joining the Bundesliga club will be helpful for his career progression after watching Michael Olise’s rise since he joined them from Crystal Palace.

Bayern won their ninth league title in ten years yesterday, and joining them appeals to Gordon.

They face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-final, and Gordon wants to play regularly in the competition.

Newcastle could miss out entirely on European football next season after suffering their 15th defeat of the Premier League campaign to Bournemouth on Saturday.

They are six points off the top seven and will need to win against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium next Saturday to have any hopes of qualifying for Europe.

Gordon is likely to move on regardless of where Newcastle finish this season, and the club will hope to secure a massive fee for him.

They need to sell players to balance the books, and the 25-year-old is expected to be their next big-money sale after the deal which took Alexander Isak to Liverpool last summer.

He was left out of the Newcastle squad on Saturday after an injury in training, and manager Eddie Howe could do with him against the Gunners.

Finishing in the top seven will be good for Newcastle financially, and Gordon should be desperate to help them clinch European qualification before his potential departure.
