The top eight automatically qualifying and then the next sixteen going into the play-offs.

Eddie Howe’s side currently with six points from their first three league matches, five left to go.

So what clues did this Newcastle United training session give us ahead of facing Athletic Bilbao?

Well, good news and bad news.

The media were given access to Tuesday’s Newcastle United training session and the great news is that Kieran Trippier was involved, having been badly missed on Sunday at West Ham due to illness.

Lewis Hall also featuring prominently in the training images, he returned to the matchday squad on Sunday but was an unused sub.

Whilst after Sunday’s match, Eddie Howe said that Anthony Gordon had felt his hip a bit. However, he also featured prominently in the images from this morning’s training.

On the bad news front this morning, no sign of Bruno Guimaraes in any of the Newcastle United training images.
