Newcastle United recovered in the second half to win 3-2 at Wolves in the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Premier Division.

NORTHERN PREMIER DIVISION

Stoke City P-P Burnley Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-3 Newcastle United (Att: 652) West Bromwich Albion v Halifax

Amber Hughes’ first-half brace saw Wolves two up against leaders Newcastle United. only for Kacie Elson, Jas McQuade and an 89th-minute Katie Barker goal see the Magpies to their sixteenth win in 18 league games. Seven points from their remaining four games will see Newcastle become champions.

West Brom edged Halifax 1-0 to go fifth in the table and level on points with fourth-placed Stoke City. Olivia Rabjohn squared to Delphi Cole to score the only goal in the first ten minutes.

SOUTHERN PREMIER DIVISION

Oxford United 1-0 Cardiff City LFC (Att: 100) Plymouth Argyle 2-2 Hashtag United (Att: 203)

Hashtag United’s title hopes were dented as they let a 2-0 interval lead slip and to settle for a 2-2 draw at Plymouth Argyle. It was a dramatic late comeback too, as Ellie Sara won and tucked away an 83rd-minute penalty, before getting her second five minutes later.

Zoe Barratt won and converted a first-half penalty, which proved enough for Oxford United to defeat Cardiff City Ladies.

DIVISION 1 MIDLANDS

Northampton Town 1-1 Lincoln City (Att: 204) Peterborough United P-P Leek Town Sporting Khalsa 3-0 Sheffield FC (Att: 40)

The leadership changed hands again as Sporting Khalsa beat Sheffield FC 3-0 to knock Loughborough lightning off the top. Isabella Austin-Short bagged a brace before the break, Layla Kennerley added the third goal later on.

Lucy Farrow gave Lincoln City the lead late in the first half but Northampton Town rescued a point, Faye Noble levelling with 11 minutes left.

DIVISION 1 NORTH

Chorley 0-5 Hull City (Att: 102)

Hull City put five past Chorley, as they closed in on the top two in the table, Durham Cestria and Middlesbrough. They have three games still in hand on both and only trail leaders Boro by two points. Helen Lynskey scored in either half, Ellie Tanser added one and Rachael Ackroyd also grabbed a double.

DIVISION 1 SOUTH EAST

Haywards Heath Town 0-2 Cambridge City

Cambridge City won the basement battle at Haywards Heath two go within one point of AFC Sudbury and safety, whilst still holding a game in hand. Megan Edwards and Becca Stephenson were on target, to put City five points ahead of Haywards.

DIVISION 1 SOUTH WEST

Keynsham Town 0-0 Southampton Women (Att: 45) Maidenhead United 0-3 AFC Bournemouth (Att: 61) Selsey P-P Exeter City

AFC Bournemouth cut Exeter City’s lead to six points with two games in hand, with all three goals of the game at Maidenhead.

Keynsham were held at home by Southampton Women, which was enough to put the hosts third, while the Sirens are now three points above the drop zone.
