Newcastle United Women's Academy awarded Category One license

The Magpies' Professional Game Academy will operate at Under-21s and Under-16s level, competing against other PGA sides from across the Barclays Women's Super League and WSL2.

The Under-21s will operate off a full-time schedule and compete in the PGA League, the PGA Cup and the County Cup, while the Under-16s will compete in the JPL Warriors, JPL Cup and PGA Youth Cup. Both teams will also participate in a bespoke games programme to enhance their development.

As part of the license, the players will receive support from several full-time dedicated staff in a variety of roles, with the ultimate aim of creating a pathway for players to compete at the highest levels of the domestic and international game.

Courtney Vacher has been appointed as Head Coach of the Under-21s, with an announcement on the Under-16s Head Coach to be made in due course.
