FC Bayern Munich is on the verge of sending Arijon Ibrahimović to FC Augsburg. After Bayern recently informed the player that his chances of regular playing time aren’t as good as they initially seemed, he’s been exploring a transfer.
Ibrahimović was actually supposed to serve as backup for Luis Díaz. However, after preseason training, he was told not to expect to see much playing time. This reportedly came as a surprise and upset Ibrahimović himself and those close to him.
Ibrahimović’s departure is now imminent, as FC Augsburg has reached an agreement with FC Bayern. This was announced on Monday. The player has stopped participating in Bayern’s training sessions because he is awaiting a medical exam.
In Monday evening’s “Transfer Update,” Sky then revealed further details surrounding the upcoming deal. It definitely looks as though the deal will go through without any problems. The record champions will receive a loan fee of around 500,000 euros for the forward, who was on loan to Heidenheim last season.

Afterward, Augsburg will have the option to sign Ibrahimovic permanently for around eight million euros. That will, of course, depend on how well the player performs in the upcoming season. One thing is clear: he has a lot to offer a team like Augsburg.
Bayern has not secured a buyback option. However, they do have a share in any future resale. This could become particularly interesting if Ibrahimovic performs very well in Augsburg and his value rises significantly. If he passes the medical exam without any issues, then the contract can be signed and the announcement made.
